The DCCD acts as a nodal agency for accreditation of existing cashew/cocoa nurseries based on the guidelines prepared by the DCCD and issue certificate of accreditation. The Nursery seeking DCCD Recognition shall apply in the prescribed form to DCCD HQ at Kochi. Each application will be considered by DCCD based on criteria specified for accreditation of nursery. On receipt of the application for recognition, a preliminary scrutiny would be done by DCCD headquarters. A committee constituted by Director DCCD consisting of an expert from Cashew research, a senior Officer of DCCD and an officer from the Department of Horticulture/Agriculture will visit the nursery On the basis of the assessment report DCCD shall decide whether to accredit the nursery with or without up-gradation. It is proposed to earmark funds for meeting the contingency expenditure of the inspection team.
